The issues related to economic reconstruction, development and co-operation
addressed by Working Table II represent a major component of the stabilisation
process of Southeast Europe alongside democratisation and security. The strategic
aim of the Working Table is to promote prosperity throughout the region and contribute
to the progressive integration of the countries of the region into the European
and global economy. Key activities include reforms in the economic environment,
creation of liberal environment for trade, attracting foreign investments and
encouraging the growth of a private market based economy. The initiatives for
regional co-operation aim to complement the Stabilisation and Association Process
of the EU and other relevant EU policies.
