Press Advisory: SC Busek to Participate at Anniversary Celebration of Joint Romanian-Yugoslav Danube Hydropower plant

A meeting between Romanian President Ion Illiescu and FR Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica will mark the 30^th anniversary of operations of the Djerdap-Portile de Fier I power plant on the Danube River, 17 May 2002. Both countries use this opportunity to stress their commitment to good neighbourly relations and their intent to develop multilateral cooperation along the Danube as their contribution to European integration.

Special Co-ordinator Busek will participate at the event and use the occasion to meet with both Presidents. Discussions will also include the upcoming Danube Conference, 27 May 2002 in Vienna, where the enhanced Danube Co-operation Process will be launched.
